The Nu Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was chartered on September 17, 1979, in Gainesville, Florida, by 26 visionary leaders determined to uplift the community through the values and mission of Alpha. These trailblazers made lasting contributions as public servants, elected officials, educators, and community leaders, setting a powerful example of service and advocacy. For over 45 years, Nu Eta Lambda has proudly carried on this legacy, enriching the Gainesville community through impactful programs such as Meals on Wheels, Relay for Life, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and student mentoring initiatives.
